The best story EVER  !!
Rosie came to Kitty Harbor in September 2007. Found and rescued on Gilliver road in Griswold, she was older, already spayed, very friendly , almost toothless, and had the loudest, most insistent MEOW ( which is why we named her Rosie, after Rosie O'Donnell ), which would stop as soon as you'd pick her up and hold her for awhile . She loved people but hated to be in our large room with other cats. She'd sit by the door and yowl " Let me ooooouuuuuuuttttt !!!!" .  She was adopted once but that didn't work out, then went to a foster home and that didn't work out either. She stayed with us and was starting to quiet down and settle in -- but we knew she missed the home she'd once had.

On June 19, 2008 we got a call from Beth, who'd seen Rosie on our website and almost fallen off her chair when she did -- Rosie was the cat Beth had lost in a divorce 2 and a half years ago. She'd moved, and when she went back to get her cat, "Van", she was missing.  Her ex-husband said he had given her away.  Beth cried for six months  -- she thought that she'd never see her cat again. When Beth came to Kitty Harbor to see Van the very next day -- well, it was one heck of a happy reunion.

We volunteers could not be more thrilled with the outcome of Rosie's story. A story like this makes up for some of the tragic and heartbreaking things we deal with at Kitty Harbor every day. We'll miss you Rosie ( yes even your yowling meeeeoooowww ) but are SO HAPPY you're home where you belong.
Kitty Harbor ADOPTATHONS will be held on Saturday August 9 and on Saturday August 23, 2008, from 1 to 4 pm each day,
at the sanctuary, 2263 Glasgo Rd in Griswold.
If you have thought about adopting a cat or kitten and would like to bring one home on the day of the adoptathon, you must be pre-approved by filling out the adoption form on our website.  If not, you may come and visit our sanctuary but you cannot bring a cat/kitten home on that day.  If you have been pre-approved, please bring a cat carrier to bring your new pet home.  Please go to our "Adoption app " page to fill out and submit your application to adopt.

Kittens that have been fully vetted, including spay or neuter, will
require an additional donation.

Kitty Harbor will be an exhibitor at the Pet Rock Festival at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester,Massachusetts, on September 14, 2008. The purpose of this festival is to promote kindness to animals. There will be an adoptable dog parade, contests, rabies clinic, low-cost micro-chipping,live music and more.
